Windows Server 2003 Event Id 55

The MS support article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932578 recommends a hotfix, but does not have a good example showing the problem.

Should CHKDSK be run first?
As errors are reported I will have to run it and let it fix the disk before I can see what it reports the allocation unit size is
